How is microdermabrasion performed
In microdermabrasion, the skin is gently massaged through the constant movement of a tool providing gentle suction, while sterile crystals buff the skin. The top layer of callused skin is buffed away. This takes place without acids or thermal components. The massaging effects and simultaneous buffing away of the outer skin layer activates the skin cells of the skin underneath, creating fresh collagen.
This is an outpatient treatment. Most facial treatments require ten to thirty minutes. Special procedures such as treatment of stretch marks can take up to two hours. Microdermabrasion treatments can be performed on the entire body. The treatment can be repeated as often as the patient desires, as each treatment brings additional improvement to the skin. A total of at least six treatments should be performed at weekly intervals.
Microdermabrasion using “First Absrasonic” is the state of the art technology in medical research. This device combines two successful strategies for counteracting wrinkles: In additional to the traditional method of microdermabrasion, the deeper layers of skin receive valuable substances from ultrasound. These substances boost the skin’s renewal process. This revitalizing effect can stimulate the formation of the body’s own collagens and reduce the depth of the wrinkles.
What happens after treatment
A slight reddening of the skin may occur for several minutes after treatment. However, this usually subsides after at most one hour. Right after microdermabrasion, the skin is cleansed with a creme and lotion is applied. A firming mask may also be used.
Results
Fine lines, age spots, acne scars and stretch marks are improved.
Depending on the goal of the treatment, four to ten treatments at biweekly intervals are required. You may go about your normal activities immediately after treatment without noticing any detrimental effects.
Who should consider treatment
Microdermabrasion is primarily intended for deep-cleaning of the skin, reduction of wrinkles, age spots and sun spots, and obtaining peeling effects. The treatment can also be used for medical purposes such as supplementing acne treatment and treating calluses, fine facial scars or stretch marks.
Microdermabrasion is a protective technique for all skin types and skin colors.
