Plastic and aesthetic surgery

‘The main goal of plastic surgery is to improve and correct the physical characteristics which a specific individual (or his or her surrounding), from physical or psychological aspect, consider to be a burden. These characteristics can be inborn, or caused, for example, by an accident, illness or old age.’
(2002 Bibliography of the Institute F.A. Brockhaus AG)

Since 1930-ies, both plastic and aesthetic surgery have undergone a rapid development. Many new methods and scientific findings developed since the 1980-ies could have been successfully adopted and used in plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. Many things have become possible in this period, which does not necessarily mean that everything which is possible should be considered as reasonable.
Paraphrasing Gertrude Stein: ‘One operation is one operation is one operation’. And the circle continues.

First step: careful and detailed consultations

In my clinic, we place great importance on careful and detailed consultation between the doctor and his/her patient. I want to meet my patients and his/her needs, motifs, desires and expectations from the future procedure (intervention).
Furthermore, the patient should meet me, find out about my approach to beauty and about my long experience in plastic and aesthetic surgery. Moreover, it is also very important to inform the patient of the possible complications. Long experience undoubtedly brings assurance of the safety of the procedures, but complications are always possible.
I refuse to perform radical procedures which are not medically grounded and justified, because I have taken the Hippocratic Oath. Good health and satisfaction of my patient are the most important in my job and these are exactly the aims which are in accordance with medical responsibility and ethics.
In no other branch of surgery do satisfaction and un-satisfaction of patients play such an important role as they do in the aesthetic surgery. The reason for that is that the results are measured according to subjective standard, and not according to some objective measurements.

Beauty has many forms and they should be in accordance with your personality. Thus all the experts working in the field of aesthetic surgery should have special experience and responsibility which would enable them to perform the procedures which are technically relatively easy to perform, in the appropriate and right way. My activities as an international lecturers and participant in many international conferences, seminars and meetings, a long practical experience and my constant education, shape my competence and enable me to have direct approach to all the new methods and achievements in plastic and aesthetic surgery.

This helps me to satisfy the high quality demands which are placed before me.
